 Adidas to Breach Cultural Appropriation

    Adidas is accused of cultural appropriation when they use a culture that’s not their own for their benefit with disrespect, with the newly released sandal design. The sandal, Oaxaca Slip On, resembles the Mexican traditional sandal, Huarache. Authorities, including artisans, state that they feel disrespected and exploited. Officials are seeking to establish a handicraft registry to protect their tradition. Mexico already has legislation that punishes brands that use their original designs without authorization. 

Donald Trump to Hold a Trilateral Meeting

    U.S. President Donald Trump is setting up a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and Putin, following the separate meetings with each, which, from Trump’s statement, are the key to calling the shots. On Monday, Trump and Zelensky, flanked by European leaders, addressed a deal among Ukraine, the U.S., and the European allies for lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine. The leader of Moscow's capital hasn’t agreed to the trilateral meeting thus far; this option isn’t completely closed. While the aerial offensive from Russia in eastern Ukraine continues, killing eight people and injuring more, residents view this diplomatic discussion optimistically.

Hurricane Aarone Continues Hammering the Outer Banks

    Hurricane Aarone is still churning in the eastern coastal city, having rescued 90 people from the rip current on Monday alone. While it’s expected to coverball back into the sea, it’s anything but innocuous, with the officials warning of treacherous fallout. Residents are encouraged to exercise extreme caution even with the picture-perfect water, as it has had many houses collapse into the sea in previous years. If ever caught in rip tides, people should stay calm, swim parallel to the shore, and back towards shore, once they escape the rip tides. 

AI K-pop Songs to go Viral Worldwide

    An artificial girl group from an animation, K-pop Demon Hunters, became the first K-pop girl group to top the Billboard 100. This Netflix original animation is spreading worldwide, even through word of mouth. Achieving shocking viewership, they are fueling TikTok challenges, further proving that even AI could impact the world.
