A Company to Hack Drone Attacks

    As technology evolves, drones are raising concerns in national defence. Drones can attack from or even inside land, airports, seaports, or even inside restricted land areas. Even off-the-shelf drones can be outfitted to drop a grenade or explosives. While governors discuss defense measures for upcoming major events, such as the 2026 World Cup or 2028 Olympics, an Israeli company, D-fend Solution, demonstrates their drone-free technology. CNN10 introduces their up-close simulation. The program is similar to a computer defence system against hacking. Upon the foreign drones’ launch, it detects them, whether it’s a lone drone or a swarm, then pulls them into a metaphorical tractor beam, eventually landing them in a pre-designated location and sending the operator’s coordinates of the malicious drones to the command centre.

The First Hurricane Expected Tomorrow

    Tomorrow, the tropical storm Aarone is poised to become the first Hurricane in the Atlantic hurricane season this year. Formed off the western African coast, it’s tracking over the Atlantic Ocean, over the near-record water temperature, that hurricanes feed on. Over the warm water surface, Aarone has sustained 45-mph winds. Scientists forecast Aarone will intensify into a Category 3 hurricane by this weekend.

A Meteor Show Tonight

    Gathering stargazers, Perseids meteor shower will light up tonight. Unfortunately, the culprit, the full moon, will wash out much of the phenomenon. But if you want to give it a try, experts say the prime time for observation is between 10 p.m. and before dawn. You may see up to 25 meteors per hour with your naked eye, so just prepare chairs and blankets. If you missed it, another event, the Geminids arrives in December under moon-free skies.

Natural Waterfall Diving in Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Professional divers gathered in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Waterfall Jump Competition. Jumping off the six-story-high waterfall, they were scored based on their swallow form and posture. Out of many professional competitors, a native Bosnian took the trophy home country.  

Rose Garden with New Theme

    The Rose Garden has hosted many diplomats, royal families, and others for major events, such as pronouncements, pardons, or even parties. This storied U.S. garden recently received a facelift, with the lawn replaced to paver. While sparking some opposition, the First lady, left feeling bruised by the backlash, stated, “The very act of planting a garden involves hard work and hope in the possibility of a bright future.”

An Elementary Schooler to Set the Climbing Record

    A 11-year-old boy accomplished a remarkable feat, a testament to putting “mind over matterhorn.” The Matterhorn is one of the tallest mountains in Europe. Last year, Sam Evermore and his father were forced to turn back just 1,200 feet from the peak. Summiting Matterhorn is a huge challenge for even professional climbers, but this time he has not only scaled it, but also set a record, reaching the top in 3 hours and 45 minutes as the youngest climber. This wasn’t even his first experience of reaching the peak. He conquered Yosemite National Park’s El Capitan at age 8, making headlines.
