Paris to Address Rising Rents with Subsidizing Housing

    As soaring rent is raising concerns worldwide, one city in Europe seems prepared to tackle this issue. Paris, known for its superfluous offerings such as museums, shops, and restaurants, faces a significant housing shortage. The closer you get to the city center, the more expensive the rent becomes. To address this problem, Paris is subsidizing rents. One of the city’s renowned buildings, Samaritaine, was also obliged for this project, offering 96 apartments. For only $800 a month, residents can enjoy the experience of living in an open-air museum with a second-to-none view of the Eiffel Tower. The deputy mayor says this project is essential for keeping the city lively. Without it, there would be many empty houses, leading to the opposite of vibrant Paris.
