The former U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger died at 100. He has been the most celebrated and controversial diplomat in the 20th century. He was so famous he wielded so much power and influence and made a groundbreaking visit to China for the opening of relations between the U.S. and communist China. Back in the Vietnamese War, casualties mounted as Vietnam gained territories. As Nixon and his Security Advisor Kissinger thought more bombings would stop treacherous Vietnam forces, they implemented it without congressional approval. Later, Kissinger and their Vietnamese counterpart were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating a ceasefire. However, his undiplomatic legacy was contested after his testimony at the age of 91. In the Middle East, he carried out so-called shuttle diplomacy, when he led Israeli and Arab forces to accords by separating them. Nowadays, his opinion is still sought after by the government and businesses. He found nothing as interesting as leaving his country better off.
