India’s capital city, New Delhi, was ranked the most polluted city by a tech company IQAir. A dense smog shrouds the city, affecting the throats and eyes of its 20 million residents. Primary schools have been forced to close, road traffic is restricted, and construction has come to a halt. This phenomenon occurs annually during this time of the year due to farmers burning their farms after harvest for the next crops, car emissions, constructions, and geographical conditions- New Delhi is a landlocked city.
Jellyfish Boom.
The population of jellyfish is booming in the U.K. and Ireland with sightings increasing by 32% from last year. When jellyfish feel threatened to age or illness, they produce younger identical versions. The warmer temperatures are accelerating reproduction. As for other conditions, warm sea water coinciding with storms and shore winds blow jellyfish onto the coast, leading to increased sightings. Dr Angus Jackson, a Seasearch Data Officer, mentioned that there are numerous variables at play, and he wouldn’t solely attribute this situation to the climate crisis.
