Some students are living through a war. CNN 10 interviewed two siblings from Gaza, who fled an Israeli ground invasion to a United Nation-sanctioned hotel that they believed to be safe. The older sister shared her story at the last hotel. Roughly 350 people were in the same place and the windows shattered and the ceiling fell. She added that the last few days at the building, they were out of drinking water and food. She was planning an engagement party, preparing a ring and dress. But now, she hasn't gotten ahold of her fiance. Her younger brother is only in 7th grade in a primary school. He was looking forward to lots of fun things. Unfortunately, he couldn’t attend school since the war broke out.
A 12-year-old girl in Israel was in the middle of the Jewish holiday with her family when her oldest brother was called to his base. He left within fifteen minutes, and everyone was in tears, unable to sleep.
Both fear war, kidnapping, and losing loved ones. Neither side wants bloodshed. It’s not a war desired by either side's innocent citizens.
