Skittles Without Red; California to Ban Harmful Food Chemicals.

California becomes the first state to ban food chemicals in the U.S. On Saturday, Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, signed a law banning red dye number three and other potentially harmful food additives. In response, the National Confectioners Association said, the bill’s approval outside of the FDA would undermine consumer confidence and lead to food safety confusion. Those additives to be banned are used in Skittles, protein shakes, boxed cakes, and even instant rice. But, nothing happened yet. It won’t be effective until 2027.
