Not so with Mercedes-Benz’s latest drive pilot system. It allows drivers to take their attention off the road and watch videos, browse the internet, and even play games. But it only works in narrow conditions. Firstly, it works on major mapped roads less than 40 miles per hour. Secondly, you have to remain in your seat to take over when the sensor alerts. Thirdly, it only works on sunny days. Lastly, only two states, California and Nevada, approved it as legal.
Put that aside, it’s the very first driverless car you can park in your driveway, provided you can afford to pay for Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class or EQS, plus $2500 for the first year to activate this feature.
