The Earth’s atmosphere consists of the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, and thermosphere. The thermosphere is where the International Space Station and other satellites are rotating.
Six months of joint operation between NASA and SpaceX comes to an end. Four astronauts stayed at the ISS for six months and came back to the Earth. The crew, 6 Mission, made a touchdown aboard the SpaceX Crew capsule. They literally came in hot. When they passed through the Earth’s atmosphere, the exterior of the capsule was heated to 3,500 degrees Fahrenheit. No worries. The internal temperature was below 100 degrees Fahrenheit until they made the splash down off the coast of Jacksonville Florida.
