ISIS-K is a militant terrorist theocracy based on an extremist interpretation of Islam. It’s infamous for activities. It swept the Middle East Africa and controlled it. But the U.S. forces, allies, local militias, and Iraqi government troops stepped up to fight against it. Throughout the relentless conflicts between them, the former leader of ISIS-K was killed in North-west Syria in 2019. Since then, Al Qurayshi has taken over as the leader.
On Wednesday, the U.S. military carried out a raid targeting the leader and eliminating one of the biggest threats in the world. Reportedly, 13 people, including civilians, were killed during the raid. It turned out the leader set off a suicide bomb that killed himself and some of his family members.
It is said that the U.S. forces were involved in that raid to minimize the danger to civilians. Fortunately, all of the U.S. troops who participated in the mission returned safely.
