They weren’t transparent in this case and disappointed the users. When it was underway, Mark was dismissive of the idea and influence of his company, so he downplayed it. He had the visceral idea that all the fuss regarding Russian intelligence and Facebook was made up. Facebook didn’t want to put their thumb on the scales one way or the other as well.
