Scientists revitalized the dead coral of the Great Barrier Reef by using acoustic enrichment. It's a speaker near the coral and makes noise. And it turned out to attract twice as many fishes. Nature Communications published a study that healthy corals make noisy sounds, and dead corals are quieter without hustle and bustle sounds. Being that this treatment hasn’t been proven, the scientists are not sure these fishes would stick around for long. But it is expected to help other dead corals struggling with low tides and invasive species underwater.
