+) Dominican Republic is listed as the poorest country in the western hemisphere based on political corruption and frequent natural disasters. Lately, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake leveled Haiti in the nation followed by a tropical storm. Reportedly, 200 lost their lives and dozens are in dire need. When a CNN correspondent fanned out around the area with charity members, they found devastation. The earthquake attacked the town and cell service has been knocked out. It only remains rubble and grief. To assess this devastation they need to go to the area. As far as it is concerned, getting into that area is a challenge since there’s no safe place to touch down.
The government hasn’t visited the town, as they have to make do with what they have. And in the remote place, getting those substantive sources and moving them into the area is not easy altogether.
