Saturn's ring is a few hundred million years old. It’s quite young, of course, by celestial body standards. It is composed of rock and ice, not palladium, not copper. It was revealed by NASA’s mission orbiting Saturn. As time goes by, the ring will be eroded by interacting with meteoroids.
