Inflation's Impact and the Threat of Federal Government Shutdown.

Inflation is the rate how much prices went up in comparison to the last period. In August, the retail sales rose by 0.6, which was higher than the 0.2 rose in July. People are noticing this when they buy food, movie tickets, popcorn, and so on. The Federal Reserve expects another interest hike that could lead to more credit card interest, mortgage, and even car loans.
The Union Auto Workers (UAW) are gearing up for a strike on Friday. CNN 10 interviewed one of them who said there was no benefit to working for a low salary and poor privilege under this inflation.
Ironically, people are splurging on discretionary Consumer Spending, such as travel, hotels, and restaurants. And those industries are booming, and yet people are claiming inflation.

*Vocabularies; government shutdown, discretionary, boom, Consumer Spending, and yet
